Hundreds of Florida businesses help poor families
Nearly 700 businesses around the state have joined Florida child welfare officials to help needy families. The Department of Children and Families launched a program in December encouraging business leaders from all sectors to find a way to connect with local families. Since then, business ranging from local construction companies, civic groups and attorneys to real estate offices, restaurants and sports teams have stepped up to the plate. Critics saw it as a nod to Ronald Reagan’s famous “Morning in America’” ad touting economic progress in his first term.

Florida set to join foreclosure deal
Arizona, Michigan and Florida, three of the states hit hardest by the housing crisis, will join a nationwide settlement over foreclosure abuses, officials with direct knowledge say. They will join more than 40 other states in approving a deal that would benefit many Americans who lost their homes or can’t afford their mortgages.
The three states’ involvement buoys hopes that a full 50-state deal is imminent.

Restless Washington Nationals could leave Brevard

No one can say how many dating coaches exist because the profession is unregulated. Anyone can offer “relationship coaching,” although some have degrees in psychology and others are certified in coaching.
