» Gov. Charlie Crist has appointed Tim Jackson, CEO of Orlando-based planning firm Glatting Jackson Kercher & Anglin, to the Florida Energy and Climate Commission for a term that ends in 2011.

» WESH-TV Channel 2 has replaced its news director, Barbara Maushard, with Bob Longo of WTAE-Channel 4 in Pittsburgh. Maushard was promoted to vice president of news for parent company Hearst-Argyle Television.

» David Gray Ross, a former Maryland circuit judge who serves as an executive in residence and instructor at the University of Central Florida, is working as an adviser to Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Daschle, reviewing child welfare, Head Start and child support with three other experts.

Lakeland partners with NuCycle Energy to turn waste into energy

The City of Lakeland is reducing its reliance on landfills by turning waste into energy. The City is working to become more sustainable by teaming up with NuCycle Energy. The partnership allows businesses to bring their waste to NuCycle Energy’s facility, where it will be turned into an energy fuel product, that replaces fossil fuels.
