    It's National Voter Registration Day. Here's how and where to register in Florida.

    Are you registered to vote? Today's a good day for it, and time is running out. You've got less than three weeks before voter registration for the general election closes. Since 2012, Sept, 17 has been National Voter Registration Day. If you're not sure if you are registered to vote in the state of Florida, you check your voter registration status on the Florida Division of Elections website.     Osceola is being scouted for one of the world’s largest data centers

    A site in rural Osceola is being scouted for a new data center that could rival the nation’s largest and bring hundreds of millions of dollars in new investment to the county. A company using the name “US Development” is scheduled for a pre-application meeting with county planning on Oct. 15 to discuss rezoning the balance of the property from agricultural to industrial for a new data center.     The battle over widening I-275 is happening again. Here’s what to know

    Activists and residents of Tampa neighborhoods have rallied against a revived attempt by Hillsborough County’s transportation planning organization to widen I-275 from the Hillsborough Avenue exit, near Old Seminole Heights, to Bearss Avenue, north of USF. The planning organization, which prioritizes federal and state transportation funds, had previously ditched the proposed widening project in 2021 amid resident opposition.     JTA lands federal grant for long-sought second ferry boat

    The St. Johns River Ferry will get a second boat, but it won't be your grandfather's vessel. JTA landed a $15.6 million federal grant for the purchase of a ferry that will operate on a hybrid mix of diesel and battery power when it starts taking vehicles across the river sometime in 2028 or 2029.
