    Employers across the country — in states like California, Arizona, Texas and Florida — increased their request for foreign agricultural workers by 65% between 2017 and 2022. Florida employers doubled their demand, growing from 25,000 workers to over 50,000. More from WLRN.

    Brevard commission to consider asking voters to renew Indian River Lagoon sales tax

    Are voters willing to keep paying a half-cent sales tax for another decade to continue cleaning up the Indian River Lagoon? On Tuesday, Brevard County Commission will consider draft referendum language to put that question on the Nov. 5 ballot. A "Yes" vote would renew the tax for another decade. More from Florida Today.

    Red Lobster announces next owner

    Red Lobster Management LLC on July 22 filed its “designation of successful bidder” paperwork with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida in Orlando. The seafood chain’s new owner will be RL Purchaser LLC, a stalking horse bidder made up of Red Lobster’s lenders, which proposed a $376 million bid. More from WFTV.
