    Supreme Court orders new look at Florida social media law

    The Supreme Court on Monday kept a hold on efforts in Florida and Texas to limit how Facebook, TikTok, X, YouTube and other social media platforms regulate content posted by their users.     Florida gas prices tick up

    The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Florida increased 2 cents during the past week, as demand is expected to pick up for the Independence Day holiday period. The average price Monday was $3.36 a gallon, up from $3.34 a week earlier and down from $3.46 a month earlier. The national average price Monday was $3.49 a gallon.     Polk commissioners again consider ordinance eliminating public notices in newspapers

    Another hearing has been set in Bartow by the County Commission for an ordinance to eliminate a longstanding requirement that public notices and legal ads concerning county decision-making appear in newspapers. An ordinance under consideration by the commissioners on Tuesday would change the requirement and require the notices to be published on a publicly accessible website run by the county.     One Ocean sold for nearly $50 million

    A local developer has purchased One Ocean Resort and Spa in Atlantic Beach, with the sale helping bring a Colorado-based hospitality group to Jacksonville. Corner Lot Development Group purchased the hotel at 1 Ocean Blvd. in Atlantic Beach on June 27 for $48.62 million through ACS One Ocean Propco LLC, which is associated with Sage Hospitality Group.
