"We’ve created an atmosphere where every detail exudes the opulence of a bygone era."
A luxurious new steakhouse is opening in Miami in the former space of a restaurant and cabaret. Lafayette Steakhouse — named after Revolutionary War hero Marquis de Lafayette — is opening in the former space of El Tucan in Brickell.
Both spaces are owned by the group Mr. Hospitality Miami, which also owns the neighboring sushi-forward Japanese restaurant Marion and the opulent Japanese restaurant Queen in the former Paris Theatre space on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.
Queen, which opened in January 2023, is known for its glamour and striking design, and this new steakhouse is no different.
Designed by Carlos Rodriguez of Escala Forma Studio and lighting designer Haus of Lawrence, Lafayette is a dark, rich world of mahogany and oak, leather upholstery, curving banquettes and eye-catching chandeliers.
There’s even a grand piano on the main floor.
