Probably a lot of visitors walking around busy downtown Tampa these days have no clue about something called the Tampa Downtown Partnership.
So for the record: The nonprofit organization manages the downtown district through an agreement with the city, putting on events, employing guides to help visitors and a Clean Team to neaten the streets. The partnership is a big booster for a downtown currently experiencing a notable boom.
Its interim president (after the recent retirement of its last one) is Shaun Drinkard, 42. Drinkard landed in Tampa with a landscape architecture degree from Louisiana State University 20 years ago, just in time to catch a sleepy city starting to wake up.
