Wilton Manors effectively shut down Thursday after a man barricaded himself in a dentist’s office with what he claimed was a bomb and refused to cooperate with local police.
Brian Koller, 45, was arrested about 11 p.m. Thursday after a seven-hour long stand off. He faces three charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, property damage, and threatened use of a weapon of mass destruction.
The bomb was later found to be a “hoax device,” according to Haley Halverson, a spokesperson for Wilton Manors police.
