› Tampa airport resuming European flights via Lufthansa’s Eurowings Discover
Direct European flights will soon resume at Tampa International Airport, thanks to a new airline bringing its maiden U.S. voyage to Tampa. Eurowings Discover, a new offshoot of the Lufthansa Group, will begin service between Tampa and Frankfurt, Germany, in December, the airport announced this week. When it launches, it’ll be the first nonstop service between mainland Europe and Tampa International Airport since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
› Party crowds spark efforts to turn down volume in South Beach
Miami Beach wants to turn down the volume in the city’s South Beach party neighborhood, citing increasingly raucous crowds, public drinking and growing violence, but efforts to curb the carousing have raised complaints about racism, classism and business practices along one of the nation’s most glamorous waterfronts.

While the start of fall in Florida offers little in regard to a change in weather, it does mean we can get excited about a fresh batch of concert tours coming to the Sunshine State. There are a couple interesting reunions and a final concert tour among the bunch, although we have learned to be very suspicious of "farewell tours," which have been used and abused over the years by everyone from Frank Sinatra to Judas Priest.
› The Old Collier Golf Club in Naples has changed hands after 20 years
David Hoffmann loves his exclusive by-invitation-only golf club in Naples. So much so, that he bought it. On Friday, Hoffmann announced that he's acquired the Old Collier Golf Club, including its18-hole championship golf course. The private club and its golf course sit on 400 acres along the Cocohatchee River, west of U.S. 41 in North Naples.
