Steve Barnes

Steve Barnes is the founder of Barnes Trial Group (BTG). His practice is dedicated to representing victims and their family members in their pursuit of justice and fair compensation. He is joined by attorneys John Trujillo, Allen Pipkins, Christopher Donegan, Adam Rieth, and Valerie Leatherwood. Steve and his team are known within the legal community as tireless litigators who refuse to be out prepared. Steve believes trials are the “great equalizer” that holds insurance companies responsible for the harms imposed on the firm’s clients. Every case the firm litigates is set for trial, resulting in nearly 100 trial setting per year. Steve is an AV rated civil trial lawyer in Tampa, FL. He is an Eagle supporter of the Florida Justice Association. He currently serves on the board of the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association. Over his 27-year career, Steve has been recognized by many attorney rating and certification organizations, including The Florida Bar, the National Board of Trial Advocacy, the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Florida Trend and Tampa Bay Magazine. In 2002, he became one of the youngest board-certified civil trial attorneys in Florida at age 33.

EDUCATION
Steve attended the University of Florida and obtained his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Thereafter, he attended Stetson University College of Law.

PERSONAL
Steve is the proud husband to his wife, Jessica. Together they raise their five children, Ashley, Audrey, Matthew, Myles and Mason. The family enjoys their time together diving & fishing in the Florida Keys & Bahamas and hiking & skiing at their home in Montana.
