Gene is a partner at Nichols and Pina, a firm he formed 10 years ago with his high school best friend Ted Pina. Gene’s practice focuses on criminal defense with an emphasis on DUI and drug related cases. He also practices family law, helping those going through divorce or paternity cases. When not working on criminal and family cases, he spends his remaining time focusing on the firm’s complex personal injury/ medical malpractice files. Gene is a father of 15-year-old boy girl twins and his wife Caroline is an accomplished lawyer with Landmark Title, heading up their Fleming Island office. Gene currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of St. Johns Country Day School and is a member of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville. He has previously served on the Boards of Angels for Allison and St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School. He is a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has served as President of its local chapter. During his spare time you can find him on the Ortega River with his family and his dogs, Scout and Malcolm.
EDUCATION
Gene is a graduate of the Episcopal School of Jacksonville and Jacksonville University, majoring in Psychology and History. He received his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 1998.
