FoundCare, Inc. Expands Behavioral Health Services

Palm Beach County FQHC Focuses on Access to Affordable Care for the Whole Family

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – With increasing demand to help underserved populations gain access to quality healthcare, FoundCare, Inc. has hired local psychiatrist Dr. Serge Thys Sr. as its Director of Psychiatry. Dr. Thys, who had been employed part-time at FoundCare, will now offer his services full-time. Dr. Thys Sr. will continue working at his established office located at 5730 Corporate Way, Suite 100 in West Palm Beach increasing FoundCare’s footprint to seven offices throughout Palm Beach County.

“The past year has been very stressful for many individuals, and the need for behavioral health services has increased,” said Yolette Bonnet, CEO of FoundCare. “By bringing Dr. Thys on full time as our Director of Psychiatry, we are able to expand services to those who are most in need.”

Dr. Thys joined FoundCare, a Federally Qualified Health Center, in January of 2016, bringing with him over 30 years of experience. He completed three separate residences in Pediatric Medicine, Psychiatry, and Child Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Thys received his M.D. from Universidad Centro de Estudios Tecnologicos in the Dominican Republic and is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Creole.

“For the past five years, I have witnessed the compassionate and dedicated service FoundCare provides to our underserved community members, which makes me proud to become their Director of Psychiatry,” said Dr. Thys. “I believe wholeheartedly in FoundCare’s mission to serve and look forward to offering additional primary care services to our current and future clients.”

With seven locations throughout Palm Beach County, FoundCare, Inc. provides pediatric and adult primary care, women’s health services (including screening mammography), chronic disease management, behavioral health services, dentistry, pharmacy, laboratory services and x-rays. FoundCare uses a sliding fee scale based on household size and income, and no one is turned away for inability to pay.
