$15 minimum wage supporters in Florida are ‘ready to fight’ legislation that undercuts Amendment 2

Backers of raising Florida’s minimum wage to $15 per hour say they’re prepared for a fight if the Republican-controlled Legislature or business groups try to undercut Amendment 2. The amendment, which passed Tuesday night with the 61% supermajority needed to become law, raises the minimum wage to $10 in 2021 and then $1 a year until it reaches $15 in 2026. How wrong were Florida polls on Trump and Biden?

Tropical Storm Eta lashing South Florida with flooding rainfall, strong wind

Tropical Storm Eta is tracking near South Florida, where heavy rainfall, strong winds, storm surge and high surf are expected to continue on Monday. Eta made landfall in the Florida Keys at Lower Matecumbe Key on Sunday night at 11 p.m. EST. This is the 12th named storm to make landfall in the U.S. this hurricane season, and the first for the state of Florida. The center of Eta is now located just off the southwest coast of Florida.
