Here you will find our second annual Florida Education Guide … the ultimate resource for comparing post-secondary educational options in Florida. This year’s edition boasts the support of more than 30 of Florida’s educational institutions.

We’ve received enthusiastic response from our readers, who appreciate the importance of having a resource in evaluating post-secondary educational options in Florida.

The mission of the guide is to provide readers of Florida Trend — family members and others who will influence this year’s high school graduates — with tips, knowledge and guidance to help the students make good educational choices.

Among the topics covered in the comprehensive, 73-page section:

“Florida’s Many College Choices,” a side-by-side comparison of post-secondary options

“What’s Trending in Admissions and Graduation,” a look at what college admissions offices are interested in

“Academically Speaking,” which examines study options

Details and tips on how to apply for financial aid.

Over the past few years as I’ve traveled throughout the state, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of Florida’s college and university presidents. More than just educators, they’re also community leaders, industry builders, economic developers and entrepreneurial innovators. They play a vital role in shaping Florida’s future, and their contributions to their communities, regions and the state shouldn’t go unnoticed.

This month’s issue also features a special section on wealth management. You’ll find investment advice, guidance and insight for the rest of the year. As a parent of four children — with our youngest three all in college this next year — I assure you that I will be looking for advice on those pages.

You’ll also want to make sure to read this month’s cover story, which looks at whether the $35-billion federal investment to encourage a transition to electronic health records has paid off for health care providers and patients.

And, as usual, our Around the State section will keep you informed on major business developments within Florida’s regions.

In the coming weeks, we will be launching Florida Trend Business Beat, a 60- to 90-second video newscast delivered to our digital subscribers’ inboxes each Friday morning along with our Daily Pulse eNews alert. The newscast will highlight the most important stories from that week — news and information that we want to make sure you don’t miss.

If you are not a subscriber to the Daily Pulse, you can sign up — it’s free — at floridatrend.com/alerts.

As always, we look forward to keeping you in the know with the state’s top business news and information.
