PASCO COUNTY, FL ---- Pasco County Public Transportation (PCPT) is proud to launch complimentary bus rides for those who’ve served our country as well as our community. The Pasco Board of County Commissioners voted today to approve the Veterans Program offering free rides for veterans and active-duty military on all PCPT fixed-route transit beginning October 1, 2019. The new benefit also extends to Pasco County employees.
“Transportation should never be a barrier to veterans seeking access to services and amenities in our community,” said Pasco County Commissioner Mike Wells. “Our mission is to improve the lives of our veterans, and we are happy to honor them with free bus fares.”
Take advantage of this offer on all fixed-service transit routes by presenting one of the following forms of identification to a PCPT bus driver:
- Military ID Card, DD Form 2
- Valid VA Card
- “V” on Driver’s License
- County-issued employee ID
“PCPT is a great way to access employment, medical care, school and other services,” said Pasco County Public Transportation Director Kurt Scheible. “As a veteran, I’m proud to see PCPT support programs that enhance our commitment to the men and women who serve.”
