Orlando Health Heart Institute Cardiology Group acquires Cardiology Consultants practice

| 8/26/2019

ORLANDO, Fla. (August 22, 2019) --- The Orlando Health Heart Institute recently acquired Cardiology Consultants of Orlando, expanding its continuum of care in the community. The cardiology practice joined the Orlando Health Heart Institute Cardiology Group on August 1, 2019.

“As one of Central Florida’s largest independent cardiology practices, Cardiology Consultants has been a well-respected and established private practice that has served the Central Florida area since 1979,” said Farhan Khawaja, MD, president, Orlando Health Heart Institute. “The physicians are highly trained and accomplished in their field and will offer a wealth of valued experience.”

Together, the practice’s interventional cardiologists Egerton van den Berg, MD; Robert Boswell, MD, and Robert Rothbard, MD, have served the patient community for more than 40 years with four Central Florida locations in Orlando, Eustis, Sebring and Okeechobee. With the recent acquisition, Orlando Health Heart Institute now consists of 56 physicians and 22 locations throughout the state.

“By bringing together the practices, we build on our expertise and experience,” said Cindy Reed, assistant vice president, Orlando Health Heart Institute. “For patients this means greater access to services, treatments, and specialized programs and centers.”

You can’t just call Rise of the Resistance, Disney’s new Star Wars attraction, a ride. It is a full-blown attraction in several acts that ends after a skidding ride in a trackless vehicle seeking an escape pod.
