June 2019 Tourist Development Tax Collections Orange County, Florida

| 8/5/2019

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Orange County Comptroller Phil Diamond announced today that tourist tax collections (resort tax) received by Orange County for the June 2019 TDT collection month were $24,217,600. Tourist taxes are charged on short-term rentals, mostly hotels and motels.

Comptroller Diamond indicated that June 2019 collections were 3.4% lower than June 2018. “It’s disappointing to see the collections for June 2019 drop below June 2018. However, June 2018 was 16% higher than June 2017. Also, collections for 2019, year to date, is still about 3% higher than 2018. Bottom line, these numbers change dramatically, especially month to month,” stated Diamond.
