Bulls to Debut Adidas Lightest Weight Uniform
TAMPA, JUNE 18, 2019 – When USF football opens the 2019 season in an ESPN primetime clash with Wisconsin, the Bulls will be clad in the new adidas WVN A1 uniform, the newest creation in the adidas A1 uniform franchise, delivering advanced fit, feel and lightweight technical design for enhanced performance.
USF was selected to debut the latest addition to the adidas A1 uniform franchise and will be the only team in the nation wearing the WVN A1 uniform, adidas’ lightest weight game uniform.
The advanced technology in the four-way stretch woven fabric combined with stretch mesh paneling throughout the jersey and pant provides for an elevated range of motion, compression fit and superior ventilation. Rigid mesh at key vent zones around the shoulder pads provides AERO.RDY breathability.
“We are very excited that in the second year of our partnership with adidas our football team will be the only one in the country wearing their lightest weight uniforms,” USF Vice President of Athletics Michael Kelly said. “We look forward to the Bulls looking great and feeling great in the new lightweight, breathable material.”
The Bulls’ new green (home) and white (away) uniform designs will feature a gold horn on each shoulder in a metallic Framis material developed in Israel. The reflective metallic gold material also highlights numbers and lettering on the uniforms.
Coming off its fourth straight bowl game appearance, USF returns 16 starters (9 offense, 5 defense, 2 specialists) for head coach Charlie Strong’s third season at the helm. The Bulls kickoff the season in a 7 p.m. ESPN primetime clash vs. Wisconsin on Fri., Aug. 30. The Badgers return Heisman Trophy candidate Jonathan Taylor at running back and were ranked No. 19 in the Athlon Sports Preseason Top 25.

In just its 22nd season of football, and 19th at the FBS level, the USF football program has earned 10 bowl appearances, including a current run of four straight, and owns a record of 6-3 in bowl games. The Bulls have appeared in the national top 25 rankings in each of the past three seasons, including a program record run of 20 straight weeks in the top 25, and in 2018 reached the program’s 150th win faster than any FBS program in state of Florida history. USF has posted a pair of 10-plus win seasons in the last three years, including a program-record 11 wins (11-2) in 2016, and logged 15 winning seasons overall.
