TALLAHASSEE, Fla.— During the first five days of the 2019 Hurricane Season, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis wants Floridians to take advantage of the final two days of the 2019 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. CFO Patronis continues to remind Florida families to take steps now to review important financial preparedness tips so that everyone can be financially prepared for an active hurricane season.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “As Floridians, we know hurricanes can devastate families, homes, and entire communities. This hurricane season, experts are predicting as many as 15 named storms and four major hurricanes. There is no room for complacency. As we saw last year with Hurricane Michael, you may only have a few days to react once the storm takes aim at Florida.
“There are only TWO MORE DAYS left to stock up on necessary disaster supplies this year tax free. The Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is a perfect opportunity to save your family money while preparing for disaster. Do not wait until it’s too late. Prepare now, Florida!”
