Up Front - The Publisher's Column

Showing appreciation for our Florida Trend team

David Denor | 3/27/2019

As I sit down to write this month’s column, one particular thought keeps coming back to me: How do we as an organization accomplish all that we do?

Fortunately, all I have to do is walk outside of my office to instantly get my answer.

The commitment, focus, drive and overall level of pride that I see from everyone on the staff — no, I mean on our TEAM — never ceases to amaze me.

Our entire editorial team works with true journalistic excellence and integrity.

Our tremendous art department ensures every detail in each monthly issue is laid out to enhance our editorial content and visually speak to our readers.

Our award-winning marketing department not only creates our internal marketing material but also designs many of the custom content pieces and community spotlight sections that you enjoy reading in Florida Trend — not to mention the many custom stand-alone publications that we produce each year, including Business Florida and NEXT.

Then there’s our production department, which works tirelessly with nearly every department to ensure that all the pieces come together smoothly into one fine-tuned product that is delivered to our printer.

Our audience development team safeguards all of our print and digital subscriber lists and works diligently with our third-party auditors to confirm all subscriber information is correct and up-to-date. The department makes sure that a smooth delivery process takes place from our printer to you, our readers.

I must also tip my hat to our digital team, which keeps FloridaTrend.com and all of our digital assets interacting and engaging for our digital users. The department is also responsible for the content and delivery of our daily and weekly opt-in eNewsletters — which on a monthly basis total a delivery of more than 3.5 million eNews alerts — yes, 3.5 million.

And without the hard work, determination, strong industry knowledge and incredible client relationships of our sales department, we would not be able to continue to innovate and grow the company as we have. They are true professionals in every sense of the word.

This brings me to our business and accounting departments, which work in unison to keep our ship sailing smoothly. Whether they are communicating with clients, partners, vendors or participating in internal discussions, their poise, grace and unbridled commitment to the success of our business is infectious.

All departments and every team member contribute to the success of the whole, just as I am sure they do within your organization. I am extremely proud of the team that we have in place at Florida Trend. Our employees are the reason that our organization can accomplish all that we do!
