United Way Suncoast Announces Year's Most Generous Workplaces in Suncoast Region

| 12/12/2018

TAMPA, Fla. – December 12, 2018 –

United Way Suncoast has announced its annual 100 Most Generous Workplaces list for 2018. The list is determined by companies’ philanthropic contributions to and through United Way Suncoast during the previous fiscal year and includes both corporate gifts as well as employee contributions.

Combined, the top 100 organizations in the Suncoast region (DeSoto, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties) and their employees generously invested $16 million to help local communities through United Way Suncoast-led and supported programs in the areas of youth education, adult financial stability and support services.

The top 10 most generous workplaces in the Suncoast region for 2018 represent nearly $11 million in contributions:

  1. Publix Super Markets
  2. Raymond James Financial
  3. Enterprise Holdings Inc.
  4. The Mosaic Company
  5. USAA
  6. Duke Energy
  7. United Parcel Service
  8. Macy’s
  9. City of Tampa
  10. Citi

Publix Super Markets and Raymond James Financial once again held the top two positions, with Enterprise Leasing Corporation, LLC catapulting from number six in 2017 to capture the number three position this year. Enterprise and its associates give generously throughout the year and go above and beyond when needed, such as providing transportation and assistance during Hurricane Irma relief efforts.

“Helping to build a healthy and vibrant community is important to us at Enterprise,” said Kevin Moore, general manager and vice president of enterprise holdings. “It’s not just the right thing to do; it makes good business sense because our positive approach helps set us apart to our customers and employees who want to be part of something meaningful.”

“Each of these workplaces strive to create a culture of caring that requires an investment of time and resources by their leadership,” said Suzanne McCormick, CEO of United Way Suncoast. “In our community, 45 percent of households are working hard and barely making it. By making social impact a part of their business objectives, these incredible partners and their employees are making a tremendous difference in the Suncoast region.”
