Housing sales, inventory trending up in Florida 

Florida’s housing market reported more closed sales, rising median prices and more new listings in October compared to a year ago, according to the latest housing data released by Florida Realtors®. Sales of single-family homes statewide totaled 22,272 last month, up 8.5 percent compared to October 2017. More data in this report from Florida Realtors, includes video about the research.

How will real estate handle rising interest rates?

Rising interest rates are having a ripple effect across the housing market as the Federal Reserve increases borrowing costs. Analysts expect the Fed to raise rates again in December and possibly a few times in 2019. Florida real estate and lending veterans bet on Congress to extend federal flood insurance

Florida has nearly 1.8 million federal flood insurance policies in place — the most of any state. And it would seem to have much to lose in delayed home sales.
