Tsunami Sushi and Hibachi is open for business in downtown Lakeland, inviting lovers of fresh, raw, finny comestibles to a dinner table laden with everything under the sea.
This is Polk County’s third restaurant bearing the Tsunami name under owner Vinh Nguyen, a native of Vietnam who spent years with the Kobe Japanese Steakhouse chain and other restaurants of that vein.
He and his partner, Jennifer Rednock, decided Lakeland’s growing downtown entertainment district was ripe for a full-blown, Japanese steakhouse theme, complete with teppanyaki tables, where food is prepared on a flat griddle by knife-wielding chefs.
