ARTEFACT studio expands to Miami

| 10/3/2017

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2017) — ARTEFACT studio recently opened an office in the Brickell financial district of Miami, expanding its award-winning corporate architectural expertise to South Florida.

“This expansion is a homecoming for me because I’ve had a hand in the creation and design of many projects ranging from buildings at the Port of Miami to some of city’s finest parks,” says Fabian Behague, managing principal of ARTEFACT and a native of Belgium who moved to Miami in 2004.

Behague played a leading role in the design of noteworthy projects such as the Florida International University Graduate School of Business and PLC Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, a mixed-use landmark that includes shops, apartments and parking. He collaborated on these landmarks with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and TEN Arquitectos, respectively.

Jackie Drake, ARTEFACT’s interior designer, also has experience in the Miami area with the Cleveland Clinic campus in nearby Weston. Drake joined ARTEFACT in January and has 16 years of experience designing commercial interiors.

Behague formed ARTEFACT in 2013 in Fort Myers and the company now handles projects throughout the Southeast U.S. ARTEFACT provides a full suite of building-design services including master planning, brand development, architecture, historic preservation and interior design. The firm’s new Miami office is located at Brickell City Center in the heart of the city’s financial district.

“Corporate clients now seek out ARTEFACT to create work environments that articulate their brands, culture and values,” says Behague. “Blending experts in architecture, interior design and planning with brand development is the key to a successful commercial project today.”

Behague and ARTEFACT have built a solid reputation in Southwest Florida, designing landmark buildings for corporate clients such as women’s apparel retailer Chico’s FAS, technology research firm Gartner, cancer laboratory NeoGenomics, luxury chocolatier Norman Love Confections and Shell Point Retirement Community.

“The projects we design can improve the way people live, work and learn because we believe in a collaborative process that emphasizes a balanced design approach,” says Behague. “We deliver outstanding results that are on time and on budget.”
