» Allison DeFoor and Colleen Castille have joined the Fiorentino Group, a government relations and business development firm with offices in Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Tampa. Castille was secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection and, earlier, secretary of the Department of Community Affairs, both under Gov. Jeb Bush. DeFoor was sheriff and a circuit judge in Monroe County and was "Everglades czar'' under Bush.

» The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association named Peter Bos its 2011 Hotelier of the Year at the association's annual awards program. Bos is founder and CEO of Legendary Inc. in Destin. Bos developments include Regatta Bay, Destin Commons, Emerald Grande and HarborWalk Village.

Lakeland partners with NuCycle Energy to turn waste into energy

The City of Lakeland is reducing its reliance on landfills by turning waste into energy. The City is working to become more sustainable by teaming up with NuCycle Energy. The partnership allows businesses to bring their waste to NuCycle Energy’s facility, where it will be turned into an energy fuel product, that replaces fossil fuels.
