After 25 years in the recycling business, Greg Rabinowitz was inspired to start a company of his own when the industry shifted from metals to technology. In 2012, he and partner Dell Funk launched Urban E Recycling. “We were confident we could build a successful business, but there were things we needed help with so we turned to the Florida SBDC at Hillsborough County.” Among them: disaster preparedness. Dell attended a workshop there on the topic that “was really beneficial in our line of work and in a location that is prone to hurricanes.”
