FPL hosting hurricane prep webinar for small businesses

Small business owners always have plenty on their plates and, here in Florida, preparing for hurricane season is something that can slip to the back burner. Florida Power & Light Company is working closely with business owners to inform them of costly and common storm-season mistakes that could be avoided with proper planning. Businesses should be aware of best practices to implement emergency plans so that communities can be safe and bounce back as quickly as possible following any major weather incident, which can bring significant economic impact.

To this end, FPL is hosting a free online Webinar on Wednesday, May 25th. Experts share vital knowledge to help business owners protect their assets and provide preparedness tips for local businesses to ready their facilities and staff for the hurricane season. In addition to FPL storm and restoration specialists, the panel also features Bill Johnson, director of emergency management for Palm Beach County.

Webinar participants will get an inside look at what FPL does to prepare as well as how emergency management personnel work with utilities and local businesses before, during and after a storm. Participants will learn how to avoid the most common mistakes made by business owners.
