Updates from FSU after campus shooting

Classes are canceled after a gunman opened fire early Thursday at a library on Florida State University's campus, wounding three students and sending others to hide among bookshelves and block doors with desks before police shot and killed him. Read more from the AP and see also:

Record number of tourists keep flocking to Florida

Florida keeps getting a record number of visitors. Visit Florida, the state's tourism marketing arm, estimates that the record number of 23.7 million visitors includes 2.9 million from overseas and more than 500,000 Canadians. More at WESH.

The Seminole Hard Rock will up its culinary game with the January opening of a $12 million Japanese restaurant, called Kuro. The resort hired executive chef Alex Becker, who has international experience at two of the world's most respected Asian restaurant brands, Nobu and SBE's Katsuya. HBO Latin America expanding South Florida offices

HBO Latin America Group is about to break ground on the expansion of its technical production facility in Sunrise. "This expansion will support the company's plans for growth as technological demands increase," HBO Latin America Senior VP of Technology and Operations Emilio Otermin said. Jacksonville's Beaver Street Fisheries rolls out new line

The company that built its reputation as a seafood and meat supplier launched a new line of all-beef hot dogs known as Grillman’s Franks. The frank product line adds to Beaver Street’s line which includes Sea Best fish filets and breaded seafood. More at the Florida Times-Union.
