Business Development -- Jane Teague has been named executive director of Boca Raton-based Enterprise Development Corp., a public/private science and technology business development organization. Teague, 43, fills a post that has been vacant for almost a year since Lew Wangberg left. She had previously been vice president of southeast operations for Wakefield, Mass.-based HighGround Inc., a technology marketing company.
Education -- Anthony Catanese is resigning as president of Boca Raton-based Florida Atlantic University, a position he has held since 1990. Catanese, 59, will become Melbourne-based Florida Institute of Technology's fourth president in July. Catanese will replace Lynn Edward Weaver, who resigned in July.
Financial Services -- Miami-based S&K Group named Michael L. Katz president and CEO of its new division, S&K Worldwide Realty. Katz, 52, had been president and CEO of Miami-based Terremark Real Estate Group.
Fire Safety -- Clark Gey has been promoted to president of Orlando-based Wayne Automatic Fire Sprinklers, a 24-year-old fire safety company. Gey, 36, was most recently executive vice president and takes over the top position from his father, Wayne Gey, CEO and founder. Clark Gey has been working at the company since he was 14 years old.
Healthcare -- Ophthalmologist Eugene M. Eisner has been tapped as vice president of Baptist-South Miami Medical Staff, a division of Coral Gables-based Baptist Health Systems of South Florida. Eisner will represent the 1,700 physicians at Baptist Hospital, where he has practiced medicine since 1974.
Kay Harvey has been named executive director of Boynton Beach-based Bethesda Hospital Foundation, the fund-raising arm of Bethesda Memorial Hospital. Harvey, 44, replaces Joy Rodak, who left to start her own company. Harvey was most recently executive director of the Broward Public Library Foundation.
Human Resources -- Bradenton-based Gevity HR (formerly Staff Leasing), a human resources company, has named Erik Vonk CEO and chairman. Vonk was most recently CEO of Randstad North America, a division of Randstad Holding NV, a human resources company based in the Netherlands. Vonk takes over from James F. Manning, who had been interim CEO since October, when Michael Phippen resigned.
Insurance -- Andria Herr has been named president of Bingham Farms, Mich.-based Allied Group Insurance Services' central Florida operations. Before taking over the newly created post, Herr, 40, was vice president of sales for United Healthcare's central Florida operations.
Manufacturing -- Rockledge-based Guardian Manufacturing has tapped Jason P. Martin as vice president, a newly created position. Martin, 35, was most recently a manager at Orlando-based Rexel, an electrical components developer. Guardian manufactures electrical devices and systems.
Restaurants -- Brad Blum and Dick Rivera have been promoted to vice chairmen of Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, which owns the Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants, among others. Blum, 48, was most recently president of Olive Garden, and Rivera, 55, was most recently president of Red Lobster. Drew Madsen, an executive vice president for Olive Garden, was promoted to president. And Edna Morris was promoted to president of Red Lobster from executive vice president.
