Canadian engineering consulting firm Rowan Williams Davies & Irwin is opening a wind tunnel facility in Miramar this fall that will help designers model their architectural structures. The company, a global wind engineering and microclimate consulting firm based in Guelph, Ontario, will employ 12 people in its 10,000-sq.-ft. facility, which will include regional offices, a model shop and a state-of-the-art wind tunnel testing operation. Vice President Michael Soligo says the Miramar site will service clients in the southern United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and South America.
"As the foremost wind engineering consulting services firm in the world, RWDI has a tremendous influence on the construction and design of buildings around the world," says James Tarlton, president and CEO of the Broward Alliance. "We are pleased they chose Miramar as their next U.S. location."
