Tuscan-style Bellasera in Naples

The 3-year-old Bellasera Hotel in downtown Naples has carved itself a niche as a condominium/hotel -- a rare property for the area.

The AAA four-diamond resort's 100 units range from studios to three bedrooms, each with a kitchen and whirlpool bath, as well as 24-hour room service and upscale décor. Balconies face a landscaped courtyard and swimming pool, all created in Tuscan style with rich colors, lush greenery and tile. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant and a lounge with live jazz.

All units have upscale décor and a kitchen.

With 4,000 square feet of meeting space, the hotel has seen an increase in corporate business as word has gotten out, says sales director Jennifer Seaborn. "We're not flagship-owned, so it's more difficult for business travelers to find us," Seaborn says. The hotel is part of the Sunstream chain.

TripAdvisor has named the Bellasera one of the "Top Ten Hidden Gems in the U.S." Its biggest draw is its location downtown, the site of community events including this month's 23rd annual Taste of Naples.

One-bedroom units range from $149 to $349 a day depending on the season.
