Roots in Real Estate

Cummings

Casey Cummings’ great-grandfather developed apartments and shopping centers in Florida. His grandfather ran a real estate sales business, and his father founded Ram Realty Services in 1978, developing projects like 4,500-unit Martin Downs outside Stuart.

“One of my earliest memories was attending a zoning hearing with my father as a 9-year-old,” says Cummings, president of the company’s three associated firms (Ram Development, Ram Realty Services and Ram Commercial Group).

While retail and multifamily projects are Ram’s “bread and butter,” over the last five years, the company has combined the two in a series of projects, says Cummings. A project called Midtown, for example, is a retail/office/residential development in Palm Beach Gardens that’s now the company’s headquarters.

Ram has 135 employees and owns and operates about 3,000 apartments and 2.5 million square feet of commercial space.

“It’s a great time to own commercial assets,” says Cummings.
