Wooing Trade with India

Miami-Dade County business and government trade leaders took the state’s first official trade mission to India Oct. 1-6. Leaders from Miami-Dade County traveled to Mumbai and New Delhi.

“Our trade with India increased 49% last year alone, but we are far from where we ought to be. That is why we are on this mission, because we believe that once the Indian business and government institutions understand what we have to offer, they will come and trade with us,” says Tony Ojeda, executive director of the International Trade Consortium of Miami-Dade County.

The Miami-Dade trade delegation met with government and business leaders, including the chairman of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and the managing director of the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corp.
