» Running unopposed, Fort Lauderdale attorney Jesse H. Diner has been elected president-elect of the Florida Bar for 2008-09. Diner will be sworn in as president in June 2009, after the term of John G. “Jay” White, tapped to be the Bar’s president in 2008-09. Current Bar president, Francisco R. Angones, steps down in June.

» Florida lawyers are deciding on the makeup of the Bar’s 2008-09 board of governors. Twenty attorneys, running unopposed, are already in, while eight others are competing for three open seats.

» Foley & Lardner has opened an office in Miami, its fifth in Florida.

» Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart has opened an office in Tallahassee.

» Five attorneys have left Akerman Senterfitt in Orlando to join Orlando’s Fisher & Phillips. Jeffrey E. Mandel will serve as the Orlando location’s managing partner.

» Fort Lauderdale’s Krupnick Campbell Malone Buser Slama Hancock Liberman & McKee has named Walter “Skip” Campbell managing partner. Campbell is a former Florida state senator.
