» Millar Wilson replaces the retiring J. Guillermo Villar as president and CEO of Coral Gables-based Mercantil Commercebank. Wilson had been global risk manager of Venezuelan parent company Mercantil Servicios Financieros.

» Paul F. Kennedy, who partially controls a group that recently purchased Ivax Diagnostics (Amex-IVD), has been named CEO, president and chairman of the pharmaceutical firm. He replaces Kevin Clark, who remains with Ivax Diagnostics as COO.

» AvMed Health Plans named Ed Hannum president and COO. He had been acting COO since January. Mike Gallagher, CEO of parent company SantaFe HealthCare, had been AvMed’s acting CEO.
