Activity is picking up in St. Augustine, especially near the beach. St. Augustine Realtor Diane Grady-Klinge says more cash buyers are emerging, and prices are stabilizing. The story in nearby Flagler County is bleaker. Homes in this retiree-heavy part of the state are selling for at least 50% less than they were five years ago. Realtor Carmen Bongiovanni calls it a “lost decade” for real estate. But prices have gotten so low that Bongiovanni is seeing more buyers emerge.
