Camiel Canters wanted to tap into the Florida vibe eight years ago when he started his apparel company, Flomotion. Now the maker of surf wear with local flair is linked to one of the biggest events in Northeast Florida.

The 30-year-old Canters said he had been pleased with Flomotion’s steady growth since 2010, but the Intracoastal West resident acknowledged he wasn’t expecting officials from The Players Championship to approach him about providing custom-designed T-shirts and hats for professional golf’s “fifth major,” which runs May 10-13 at Ponte Vedra Beach’s TPC Sawgrass.
