 Economist Arthur Laffer - famous for helping to engineer former President Ronald Reagan's tax cuts and as a "father" of the pro-growth "supply side" economic theory – said during a stop in Sarasota Wednesday that he is optimistic the economy will improve dramatically under President Donald Trump.

Trump is poised to give the Sarasota region's economy "the best ride since Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey came here," Laffer said during a press conference before a speech sponsored by the Caldwell Trust Company.
