Four years ago, two brothers began growing tired of making home-brewed beer and decided it was time to launch their own line of whisky, bourbon, vodka, scotch and rum.

Since that June day in 2012, the brothers — Paul L. James, of Ocala, and Timothy James, of Lakeland — have slowly worked on those plans to open a craft distillery called James Two Brothers Distillers.

The brothers have met with city of Ocala officials and the local Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP). All the agencies have signed off on James Brothers.

“They want us to eventually move downtown,” Paul James said. “That day will hopefully come soon.”
