» Interim chairman and CEO Neil Austrian, 71, a longtime board member, took over as permanent chairman and CEO of struggling Boca Raton-based Office Depot. He succeeds Steve Odland, who resigned in November. Austrian is a former president of the National Football League, an Office Depot director since 1998, a former managing director of Dillon Read & Co. and CEO of Showtime/The Movie Channel. Austrian's base salary will be $1.1 million.

» Rory A. Brown, chairman and CEO of Palm Beach-based Lydian Private Bank, resigned and was replaced on an interim basis by President James B. Meany. Last year, the Office of Thrift Supervision said the bank was inadequately capitalized. It's trying to raise capital.
