Six days a week, Dorcy Gaymon’s amiable eyes and soft-spoken demeanor greet shoppers at Solomon’s Venture on Art Museum Drive.

But a closer look reveals a 6-foot-5-inch frame and fists that resemble anvils.

Those assets, along with a great jab and right uppercut put Gaymon in the ring with some of the best fighters in the world during boxing’s last heyday in the 1980s.
