He's the self-proclaimed coffee pimp of South Andrews Avenue now, but Jon Robichaud didn't even like coffee when he moved to Fort Lauderdale more than 20 years ago.

These days, coffee is his livelihood. He serves it daily — all takes, all special requests — to loyal customers who drive up to his small corner shop looking for a caffeine jolt, a quick chat and a laugh in a very non-corporate environment.

In business since the early 1990s — well before the first of many Starbucks locations came to town — Expresso The Gourmet Drive-Thru Coffee Shop stands out among locals not just for its fresh coffee and pastries, but for its uncomplicated nature.
