Jacksonville-based BCR Environmental is becoming known for its progressive technologies that convert wastewater to fertilizer. The Neutralizer upgrade to Haines City’s wastewater treatment facility is saving the city $100,000 a year in operating costs. The company was founded in 2003 to research and commercialize turning organic wastes, including biosolids and food wastes, into safe residual products. It has grown to 22 employees and has completed more waste-to-fertilizer plants than any other Florida company.
