Who Said That?

"It was quite ironic that this class provided me with the idea and provided me with the funding for it."

-- Edward Buckley, founder of peerFit

Edward Buckley was tired of writing down on paper the workouts that he taught. An instructor at Gainesville Health and Fitness Center, he wanted to find a more efficient way to keep track of the workouts.

“I started writing them into my phone's notepad,” Buckley said. “I had my phone with me everywhere, so I could pull up workouts from five weeks ago that I wanted to reuse.”

His experiences spawned the idea for peerFit, a fitness tool and online database that enables easy access to workouts and schedules and connects people with similar workout interests.

With a team of three University of Florida graduates, Buckley, president and founder, developed the peerFit website and is in the process of developing a mobile site and app.
