Florida consumer sentiment shows mixed trends in July
Consumer sentiment among Floridians was largely unchanged in July, edging up one-tenth of a point to 83.9 from a revised June figure of 83.8. National consumer sentiment also rose slightly, increasing by 1.1 points. Floridians’ views on current economic conditions were mixed. Opinions about personal finances now compared with a year ago fell four-tenths of a point, from 77.1 to 76.7. In contrast, views on whether now is a good time to buy a major household item, such as a refrigerator, rose 2.2 points to 79.5 — the highest level in nearly five years. NeoGenomics reports $45M Q2 loss despite record revenue
NeoGenomics posted a $45 million net loss in the second quarter of 2025, a 142% increase from the same period last year, driven by $20 million in impairment charges. Despite the loss, the Fort Myers-based cancer diagnostics company reported record quarterly revenue of $181 million, up 10% year over year. Jacksonville's Mayo Clinic drops in latest U.S. News Florida hospital rankings

Miami seals big Watson Island development deal
Miami has finalized the sale of city-owned land on Watson Island in a deal that promises new luxury residences, 13 acres of public green space overlooking Biscayne Bay and millions in community benefits. Will the Phillies be able to reach a Clearwater stadium deal?
The Philadelphia Phillies have resumed conversations with Clearwater and Pinellas County about revamping their spring training site since pausing them after last year’s hurricanes. The team has proposed ambitious renovations for years, but have been unable to reach an agreement with either side. While the team has not yet brought forward an official proposal for a new round of talks, City Manager Jennifer Poirrier, designated the city’s lead in negotiations, expressed cautious optimism about reaching an agreement.

Florida man 'Yacht Papi Dayne' rolls around Treasure Coast in boat-car
A passenger riding shotgun in the iconic boat-car will experience gale-force winds when Dayne Oldenborg, known as "Yacht Papi Dayne" on social media, hits the gas. The boat-car is an automobile that had its roof shaved off and replaced by a boat's windscreen, which does little to block the wind force. Oldenborg, 30, has a boisterous personality; his boat-car pushes the envelope of what constitutes street legal. It makes for a viral combo on social media.
