Haskell, an architecture, engineering and construction firm headquartered in Jacksonville, announced today that COO James O’Leary has been appointed president. Following Preston Haskell and Steve Halverson, O’Leary becomes the third president in the company’s 52-year history.
The South Florida Manufacturers Association (SFMA) has selected Matthew Rocco as its new President. He succeeds June Wolfe to carry on her legacy. Matthew's experience spans over 10 years combined in the corporate arena and higher education at Broward College. Auld will be responsible for developing and maintaining client and associate relationships throughout the state. He is a certified building contractor, and has worked in various levels of industry, including in the field and in national executive roles.

Maria L. Sachs, former State Sen. and current executive director of Innovation Florida, was awarded the prestigious Guglielmo Marconi Award by The Order Sons of Italy in America. Named for the Nobel prize-winning Italian physicist who invented wireless telegraphy, the award is presented to Italian Americans who have made significant contributions to the United States.
Joanne Li has been appointed dean of FIU's College of Business. Most recently she was dean and professor of finance at the Raj Soin School of Business at Wright State University, a position she held since 2012. "I am very privileged to have the opportunity to serve a world-class faculty, dedicated staff, and talented student body in the FIU College of Business," Li said.
John L. Volakis has been appointed dean of FIU's College of Engineering & Computing. Volakis comes to FIU with a distinguished career in academia, most recently serving as the Roy and Lois Chope chair and professor of electrical and computer engineering at The Ohio State University's College of Engineering, a position he held for 14 years.
