Connecting Research, Talent, Technology and Business™
S P E C I A L S P O N S O R E D R E P O R T |
Innovation is a term that seems to somehow defy definition. Ask 15 people to tell you what it means, you’ll get 15 different answers, most containing buzzwords like “creative insights,” “leading-edge ideas” and “knowledge-based solutions.” It’s easy to recognize innovation when it pertains to science or technology. Laboratory discoveries, such as new vaccines and gene therapies, are innovation. So are state-of-the-art computers and telecommunications equipment.

A WORD From the publisher
My, how times have changed. It was in 2003 that FLORIDA TREND first began collecting the stories of medical and technological achievements from the state’s research universities into the pages of a publication called Research Florida. Over the last five years, as a growing commitment by our universities and research institutions to break new ground in the fields of life sciences, information technology, aviation and aerospace, homeland security and defense, manufacturing and more has spawned a boom in statewide economic development, we find that the label “Research Florida” is too limited for the story Florida has to tell. » Read More
