June 2025 | Mike Brassfield
This month, Miami and Orlando will become centers of the international soccer world. And the world’s greatest player, Lionel Messi, will be front and center.
In the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, 32 teams from around the globe will compete in a tournament in a dozen venues across the U.S. Tens of thousands of overseas fans will travel here to cheer on their teams, providing an economic boost.
Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium will host eight matches, the second-most of any venue. Messi will play in the first game, his team Inter Miami’s match against Egyptian club Al Ahly, on June 14.
As for Orlando, it’s the only city with two venues hosting matches. Camping World Stadium (previously named the Florida Citrus Bowl) will host four matches. Inter&Co Stadium, the home of pro soccer teams Orlando City FC and Orlando Pride, will host two.
“The arrival of major events like the FIFA Club World Cup this summer play a significant role in our local economy, boosting businesses across sectors — from hospitality and retail to attractions and entertainment,” says Casandra Matej, president and CEO of Visit Orlando.
