» Ed Moriarty has been named CEO of Cocoa Beach-based Ron Jon Surf Shop, which has nine stores. Debbie Harvey replaces Moriarty as president and COO.

» Mike Bobroff is now COO of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission. He retains his position of executive vice president.

» Joanie Schirm has stepped down from the helm of Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants, an Orlando engineering company she co-founded in 1991. Known for bringing World Cup Soccer to Orlando in 1994, she says she’s ready for new adventures. Gary Kuhns replaces her as president and chief engineer.

R/V W.T. Hogarth Christening Ceremony

With the crack of two bottles of champagne and the blessing from a local priest, Florida’s newest research vessel, the R/V W.T. Hogarth, was christened and launched for the first-time this week. The W.T. Hogarth will be used by the University of South Florida as well as more than two dozen institutions across the state.
