Clean Energy Economy Generates Significant Job Growth
The fledgling renewable energy industry has been growing for years, with more than twice the national average percentage job growth during much of the past decade.
A study released by the Pew Charitable Trusts found that clean energy jobs grew by 9.1% compared with a national average of 3.7% from 1998 to 2007, the latest year available.
The group says Florida saw a 7.9% increase in clean energy jobs in that period and is among the top 10 states for jobs in the industry.
